Visual Basic

When people heard that I had decided to take a course while working full-time and planning a wedding, they considered me insane.

I, on the other hand, have been greatly enjoying it.

I have delved into the unknown world of computer programming through Visual Basic 2005. I'm sure this makes many of you non-techies groan and will result in glazed-over eyes in a few, but I have actually found it quite interesting. It's a course that is offered completely online so I can work on the readings and assignments whenever I want, but he has weekly assignments which helps to keep me motivated and gives me just the right amount of stress and pressure.

whirlwind

April was such a whirlwind! It's so hard to believe we're already into May and I haven't posted since the end of March.

But, for those of you who may still check this in the hopes that I will one day update again, things are finally beginning to settle down at home. Every spare minute I had in April was spent sorting and packing and it all culminated in the grand moving weekend of April 27-29. While me and my mom both intended to take photos of the process, the cameras failed to appear. :(

I don't have pictures yet of the inside of my two new homes, but I'll leave you with pictures of their outsides:

My current main abode is one of the bedrooms in my parent's new condo in Abby - a two bedroom corner unit on the fourth floor.

Right next to this building is a construction site for another building in the same style as my parents' place. It's going to be fascinating watching it develop (this picture was taken from our balcony).

This is the home for the majority of all my 'stuff' as well as Mark's permanent abode in the heart of Richmond. Our small two-bedroom unit is on the first floor.

And this is the view from our patio. Quite beautiful right now, but this land is currently in the news quite a bit. It's currently in the ALR (Agricultural Land Reserve for those not from BC - basically it limits the use of the land and restricts major development) but judging from all the news, this may change in the future. Until then, we will enjoy the view!
